I decided to visit the record store near my house today in hopes to find some timeless cds for this old, cherry color, mini truck, that only works with cds that i call mine. I parked my car, remembers to took my key out - as i usually forgot. I stepped into the store noticing there was no one there except for this man, whom i'm guessing, is the owner of the store. After a split minute of browsing, the man asked me if i needed help in finding anything, to browse for a decent few more minutes is what i intended to, only if i’ve had a couple more minutes, i will stumble upon some gems, this I can assure of. Regardless of how i felt about his question, i gave him an answer on an artist that i’m looking for, Chet Baker is. A tasteful conversation about music started from here. The man, on his knee, struggled to find me one of Chet’s album; a few minutes later, he handed me a big collection of all of the best jazz songs which includes the famous American trumpeter, Mr. Baker. Now things would’ve ended here, i’d be pleased to come home with this collection on my hand, if only there’s more than just two of Baker’s songs in this big ol’ collection, the man turned back and look at me, as if he can see the disappointment look on my face, he asked me to name him a few other artists, i gave him a varieties from Marilyn Manson, The Smiths, and of course the French beauty Françoise Hardy. But none of which he can find. As he looked through the shelves, hoping for the slightest chance that he would find one - during this search, we’ve had conversations on the topic of Rock and Jazz music from the ‘60s throughout the ‘90s. A drum player is the answer to my question when i asked the man what type of music does he pay his interested in, this was to say that he’s interested in all types of music, he plays a bit of everything. As the minutes went on, as we go deeper into the jazz topic and one thing that i learned from the conversation is that the talented, sad and beautiful soul Billie Holiday passed away when she was in her 40, which came as a bit shock to me, for I without a doubt, adore this woman and her music. He handed me 3 of her albums as we discussed more about Billie’s life. Looking through one of the albums, there’s a few of her songs that i have a recognition for. At one point i told the man that i do very much enjoy listening to her songs but they were too sorrow for me to have them play often in my car or anywhere. Despite of the things that I’ve told him I chose to go with the album of her on my hand that I’ve been staring at, have i made the best decision ever, this was relying on my trust with Billie’s music, she won’t leave me in disappointment is what i’m entirely sure of.

He also suggested that i should look through the vinyls section for this will give me more chances of the things i’m looking for, unlucky as i am, I, myself don’t own a record player i told him. We chat for a good few more minutes before i decided to check out, before i head back to my car, the conversation ended when i made him a promise that i will be back to look for some vinyls once i have the record player in my hand. I recall the conversation I’ve had with this man as one of those very special ones (which i don’t have that many of, a few to say the least). There was another time where i also wish the time could went on forever and it happens to be my gynecologist (this is not a rare case i hope not, you know, findings connection while having your legs spread apart). As I’m typing this, it is just now I‘ve realized that I don’t know this man’s name and how he doesn't know mine, or maybe he just simply doesn’t want to, nevertheless i hope the man is expected to see me coming back, to see the biggest art nerd I am.
